(HealthDayNews) -- Medication may relieve acid reflux symptoms, but there are other things you can do, according to the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation in Minnesota:
- Stop smoking and avoid caffeine.
- Avoid drinking alcohol.
- Say "no" to fatty and spicy foods.
- Don't overeat.
- Lose weight if you need to.
- Don't eat within three hours of bedtime.
- Raise the head of your bed four to six inches.
- Avoid pain relievers that could upset your stomach.
